As Bangkok heats up in preparation for Song Kran, we've prepared a selection on North Eastern Italian Wines. Mostly on the lighter side of things, with the whites, citrusy and fruity, and the reds medium and smooth - this selection is perfect for helping you escape the heat, coupling with a BBQ, or sipping on the beach.

Corte Giara - Prosecco DOC Millesimato Dry - Bright straw yellow. Fresh bouquet with abundantly fruity aromas of apple, pear, apricot and pineapple and hints of citrus tapering into the scent of wild flowers. Well structured, soft but at the same time dry, due to accentuated acidity. The harmonious palate conferred by the sugars is balance by an appropriate, satisfying tannin. Excellent as an aperitif, or with raw fish, clam consommé and shellfish.

Tenuta Luisa - Sauvignon - Its colour is golden yellow. To the nose the bouquet is very fine and typical, recalls: sage, pepper and tomato leaf. It is a wine of great structure and at the same time offering excellent acidity.

Livon - Chardonnay Collio DOC - Bright straw yellow colour; it has a very elegant bouquet, ranging from apple to bread crust, to peach and hazelnut. On the palate it is velvety and leaves the mouth clean and dry.

Alois Lageder - RIFF Merlot Cabernet IGT - Wine beautiful ruby colour with garnet rim. Wine sounds aromas of ripe fruit, flowers with light spicy notes. An elegant wine with a deep, rich fruit flavours, well integrated tannins and soft acidity. The wine is well served as an aperitif, as well as meat dishes and various cheeses.

Corte Giara - Bardolino DOC - Ruby red of medium intensity with purplish highlights. Intense and fragrant, with dominant notes of small woodland berries accompanied by the characteristic spiciness of pepper and rose-hip blossom. Dry and harmonious, it captivates the palate with its elegance and succulent easy-drinking style. Pairs well with simple Mediterranean cuisine, especially pasta and seasonal soups.

Palazzo Grimani - Valpolicella Ripasso DOC - Full and satisfying. The harmonious balance struck by an excellent structure and vibrant acidity renders this wine both smooth and vivacious. Pairings: Pot roast and braised meats accompanied with polenta (corn meal), grilled filet, quail, sliced beef with mushrooms, lamb spare ribs and medium matured cheeses.
